Low-income and working poor bereaved families often face funeral expenses and/or mental health needs that they cannot afford.
In January 2019, NBC News published an Associated Press article stating, “Paying for funerals is impossible for many poor families.”
​The article also states, “Many poor families in the U.S. have been priced out of funerals and burials.”

$50 DONATION

Strengthens our ability to provide bereavement consultations to guide low-income families to plan and secure reasonably priced funeral services.

$150 DONATION

Provides a family one hour of grief counseling services. 

$250 DONATION

Covers the cost of one workshop, educating at least 25 low-income and elderly residents throughout Houston about: Demystifying Pre-Need Burial Insurance, Understanding Funeral Rites, Accessing Public Services, Grief Recovery, and Bereavement Planning.​

$300 DONATION

Provides a family two hours of grief counseling services. 

$400 DONATION

Supports the training of Care Team Volunteers and provides for the purchase of cards, letters and other items to encourage and identify referral services for 40 or more individual family members for 12 months after the death of their loved-one.​

$750 DONATION

Provides financial assistance, paid directly to service providers, to enable a family to avoid delays in funeral services.
